The last three weeks have been an absolute whirlwind and I feel like I haven’t had a moment to sit down, pause and breathe. There’s been a massive change and let me tell you, changing your entire life is not easy. It’s been quite a challenging and exhausting three weeks.
If you have read my latest post, you will know that both myself and Ash hung up our clipboards and ended our experiences as overseas reps. It’s been a rollercoaster and it’s been amazing but ultimately, it was time to call it a day and get some more stability.
The last three weeks have been full of job applications, interviews, property viewings, contract signings and everything that is involved with moving house and changing jobs. These things can be stressful alone, nevermind together, and I’ve had to do most of it alone and make decisions for both of us whilst Ash was working his notice in Cyprus.
But now, I’m a bit more settled, things are pretty much sorted and all we are waiting for is a job for Ash.
This week we moved into our lovely new apartment. It’s small but it’s cosy and perfect for what we need. When you’ve lived out of a suitcase for three years, you don’t really have much to put into it so small is just fine. We’ve quickly made it our own and it immediately felt like home. I feel super happy here. We’re located less than a ten minute walk from the centre of town which is great whilst I don’t have a car and we have a view overlooking the River Tees. It’s absolutely perfect for us.
This week, I’ve also started a new job. I’ve completely changed careers from travel and now have a job in an estate agents. I basically applied for anything and everything just for the money and it is one of the things I got back. I don’t have a clue what I’m doing but I’m sure I’ll learn. The working environment is very relaxed, my colleagues are lovely, I can walk from home and it’s decent money. We’ll see how it goes but for now it’s good.
I definitely think we made the right decision. Everything has fallen into place really well so far and I feel super grateful. I’m currently in a happy little bubble and I’m loving how our new life is coming together.
