MAY MOMENTS

This year is whizzing by and before we know it, we’ll nearly be halfway through. May has been an interesting month. We’ve had a lot of issues at work and considered throwing the towel in at some points, the weather has been rubbish on most of our days off and we spend a lot of time absolutely exhausted. Other than that though, May has been lovely. We are still in love with Cyprus and still having fun exploring so I can’t really complain.

COUNTRIES

Just one, sticking in Cyprus for a while.

FLIGHTS

Zero… makes a change.

BEST MOMENTS

We had an absolutely lovely day celebrating Ash’s 21st birthday. We spent the day in Limassol shopping and exploring before a lovely meal.

I got off a boat and swam in the middle of the sea for the first time! I’m not an overly confident swimmer so this was a big achievement for me.

We found a new hidden gem of a beach on our last day off which I will introduce you to in a future blog post.

WORST MOMENTS

I wouldn’t exactly say that there has been a stand out worst moment just a lot of things that have pissed me off at work.

NEW BARS

Muse, Paphos. We went for Ash’s birthday and it offers delicious cocktails and panoramic views across Paphos. We loved our first visit so went back earlier this week and were disappointed when we still hadn’t been acknowledged after 20 minutes so we left.

NEW EXPERIENCES

As previously mentioned in my best moments, getting off a boat and swimming in the middle of the sea was a brand new experience. If I can’t touch the floor, I usually panic and although I needed a bit of help, I did it.

I went to my first drive-thru this year. For some reason, they always scared me. Probably a combination between being socially awkward and worrying that I’ll get stuck half way round but I ventured to KFC and did it!

EATING

My hotel does some incredible sugared cronut style ball things for breakfast that I have been loving. I don’t even know what they are called because the hotel labels them ‘American pancakes’ but they are definitely not pancakes.

Muse introduced us to bacon wrapped halloumi which is incredible. Such a shame about the service on our second visit.

WATCHING

We were recommended the movie Get Out by some of our fellow reps and it is fantastic. Very creepy and fucked up but we like those kind of what the fuck movies.

We watched the full season of The OA and I am still not completely sure what was going on or what I think about it. Some parts I really enjoyed but I just didn’t get a lot of it, the entire thing was just a bit bizarre.

We started watching Bates Motel but I’m not sure what I think of it. Granted we’re still only two episodes in but we haven’t got any further because I don’t know if it’s worth carrying on watching.

READING

I bought my first two copies of Blogosphere before moving to Cyprus and I’ve been saving them because I only have the two to last me the summer. I cracked open the first copy this month and whilst I really like it and think it is a great idea, I’m not sure it is worth the hype or the price tag.

I spend a lot of my free time at work catching up on my favourite blogs. My current two favourites are Alex In Wanderland who always gives me travel envy and my good friend The Hels Project who writes amazing posts about lifestyle and being a mummy alongside adorable photos of her son.

LOOKING FORWARD TO IN JUNE

This weekend I have a half day and day off together. It may not sound like a big deal but to us, it’s like our own little mini weekend and we are so in need of a weekend!

Yay for a bit of time off together! Sounds like a good month (minus the silly service on your second Muse trip!)
Well done again for your sea-swim, and double well done for the drive-thru! I’ve been doing a lot more driving but I still feel a bit sick and shaky when I know I have to drive by myself!
    Hels xx
