Cue the most boring post I have ever written… but I’m super excited by it.
I love homeware. I could spend hours shopping in homeware sections and get excited over basic things like salt dispensers. I love shopping to make a house a home but for the past three years, I haven’t had a home to put anything into.
After moving accommodation every couple of months for the last three years due to work, it is so nice to have our own place to come home to… even if it’s not technically ours.
One day, we’ll own our own home and it will be an absolute dream but for right now, we’re not in that position. So while we’re renting, we’ve done everything possible to make our flat feel like home. I am super happy with it and feel so happy and cosy here.
I’ve had an absolute ball shopping and could have spent an absolute fortune. I’m so happy with some of my recent purchases and I thought I would share them with you. Only one of these purchases is a splurge and I’m sure you will understand why I couldn’t resist…
Cushions, in my opinion, bring a room together and make your living space so much cosier. I spent a while trying to find the perfect cushions to complement my grey and yellow colour scheme. The Asda cushions are super soft and perfect for resting your head whilst the Ikea cushion adds a nice pop of design to an otherwise bland sofa.
I purchased this print from DorkFace back in December, long before I knew we would be quitting our jobs and returning home to find our own place. When I saw it, I knew that one day, I would love this print in my home. I’ve popped it in this photo frame from The Range as I thought it would help incorporate the wood furniture in the living area.
I’m sorry but how expensive are rugs? My last resort was IKEA and just when I’d almost given up after browsing the £150-300 rugs they had to offer, I spotted this little gem which is perfect for the colour scheme and only £35.
Marble effect coasters… Just yes.
Now I’m an adult, I’m trying to steer clear of novelty items when it comes to homeware but these mini mason jars were too cute.
I’ve collected a few rose gold items over the years which have set up home in our bedroom. I’ve also wanted a peg board for years but couldn’t justify the £30+ price tag so this beauty, at a fraction of the price and a gorgeous colour was a no brainer.
Marble, oh I adore you. It was a no-brainer to have a marble effect bathroom and Primark is spot on the marble mark at the moment. They have so many items but I just picked up this reed diffuser and tealight holder for relaxing bath evenings.
And my absolute favourite purchase and my only splurge… this little fella! I’ve never seen anything like him, toilet roll holders are usually super boring and this guy had me head over heels. I love elephants and I just couldn’t leave him on the shelf.
Where is your favourite place to shop for homeware?
