4TH OF JULY

On July 4th 1774, the declaration of independance was signed in America. This made history and is celebrated each year by Americans.

On July 4th 2016, Ashley and I started seeing each other. This made my own history and will be celebrated each year by us.

We have had so many adventures in this past year that it has flew by so fast. However, it feels like we have known each other for a lifetime and that there is no way it can only be one year. We have some of the worlds worst luck which now is just funny. We have the most amazing times and a lot of it is documented on this blog. I am so grateful to have found someone who shares my values in life and sees the world the way that I do. We have managed to cram so much into the last year that we now consider ourselves to be on chapter 3…

CHAPTER 1 – Tenerife

We got to know each other at Hippy Bay, went on date nights to Chill Out, snorkelled at El Puertito, explored Mount Teide, shopped in Santa Cruz, danced the night away in Las Americas, made friends with a pigeon in Candelaria, slurped milkshakes in La Laguna, checked out pyramids in Guimar, went dolphin watching in Los Gigantes, attended a wine and food festival in El Medano, explored Anaya, sipped mojitos at Las Teresitas and star gazed in Teide National Park. All this and so much more but the highlight of it all is that we fell in love and moved in together.

CHAPTER 2 – UK

Ash introduced me to Belfast, I introduced him to London, we wandered Christmas markets in York, spent Christmas in Carrickfergus, New Year in Middlesbrough, invaded his stepdads bar, were unimpressed by Dublin, evacuated from Gambia and spent a rainy few days in Amsterdam. After the whirlwind that was Tenerife, we were sad to go home knowing we would be separated. It was hard and sometimes sad but we made it work.

CHAPTER 3 – Cyprus

We stayed in our first swanky hotel, had a jeep safari through the Troodos Mountains, explored Akamas, tried segways in Paphos, sunbathed at Coral Bay, wandered the marina in Limassol, crossed the border into Famagusta, swam in the sea at St. George’s island and celebrated our anniversary in Ayia Napa. After being separated for four months, it is amazing to be back together full time but chapter 3 isn’t over yet…

It’s been a year so happy anniversary baby, I worship the ground you walk on.
